What image do the words Jalan Kayu conjure in you? Odds are the mental picture of a stack of crisp roti prata will immediately pop into our minds unbidden but we reckon the image of BBQ chicken and ribs will not be far behind. Jerry’s BBQ & Grill has been an institution along Jalan Kayu since 1994.
Styled after the smokehouse establishments found dotted throughout the southern United States, this restaurant exudes a casual and friendly vibe. On any given night you can find groups of friends on a night out, families chowing down to dinner or couples looking to spend some time together over good food. Diners come from the nearby Seletar aviation and aerospace hub or the industrial parks near Ang Mo Kio with some coming from further afield.
Well known for their famous Buffalo Wings (Level 5 spiciness is called Jerry’s Insanity for good reason) Jerry’s also has a wide range of appetizers like their signature Deep Fried Mushrooms, pastas and steaks. Vegetarians are not forgotten as well with options like Vegetarian Portobello Mushroom Burger. But what most people come for is the house specialty, the barbecued pork and beef cuts. The meats are cooked in low-heat, slow smoke-barbecue process which uses hickory wood in an American made smoker oven to slowly barbecue the meat so that it comes out all juicy and tender.
